The 2 weeks at home with my family in the USA during the holidays, after about a year and half away from them, were probably one of the best of my life, and they involved minimal alcohol consumption or partying!
This is when you know you're getting old. I loved how my mom’s last words to me before my departure for Singapore to continue my MBA were: “I will e-mail you about this, don’t worry.” She was dead-pan serious, while my dad and sister chuckled.
We were talking about a Bengali TV serial I became hooked on watching on the couch with her for the past 2 weeks. Its those simple things in life that make it great, right? As I get older i'm realizing that its who you are with that’s more important than where you are and what you’re doing. I'd rather be sitting at home on the sofa watching TV with my family than partying at the best club in Europe with drunk people who don’t give a shit about me.
Best part was New Years Eve with my sister…for the last hour before 12 AM we recapped over our entire year..the good, the bad, the ugly, and we promised ourselves for the last 15 minutes to talk about all the things we were lucky for in 2011. Then at 12:00 AM, we gave each other the biggest, longest hug of probably anyone at the party. Would not have had my new year's eve any other way.

And then, the highlight of the night...after leaving the party, I spit outside on the ground and my sister took a picture of it, titling it “the Last Spit”..since im going to Singapore, and would probably get caned for doing that there. Decided not to post that pic here though. :)
